Snow on the ground…

As we mentioned earlier we had a sprinkle of snow in the mountains in end of August. This didn’t last long though and we have had unusually mild September. But this morning we had a bit of snow down to sea level. The kids in town were quick to take the oportunity to play in the snow. The attached article with pictures came in the local newspaper BB this morning.

Last year we managed to ski down a gully above Isafjordur, from the mountain top almost down to sea level on October 6th. Then Runar posted pictures and a short article (again in Icelandic) on the website of the Icelandic Alpine Club. This you can see on isalp.is.
