Örvar is a young climber by nature and more or less grew up in the mountains close to Ísafjörður. His easy-going spirit is well appreciated by our guests and Örvar's laughter is infectious!
He trained cross country skiing for 8 years but his current main passion is skiing, rock and ice climbing, using good days to practice his skills in the mountains all over Iceland.
This is Örvar's fifth season guiding for Borea Adventures. He holds a 4 star BCU kayaking certificate, has completed avalanche Level I and Level II in Canada and Iceland, WFR first aid training and taken various mountaineering rescue courses in Iceland. He's currently doing his ski guide training with Association of Canadian Mountain Guides in Canada.
First memory of adventure: Doing the first tandem paragliding flight in Iceland with his dad when he was 5 years old! His dream is to build a ski press or open his own adventure company, ADHD Adventures...!
